Questions, answered

Good privacy
should feel simple.

Still curious? We like that. Here are the questions we hear most.

What is a data broker?

A data broker is a company that collects personal information from public and commercial sources, then packages or sells it to other companies. ZeroPrivacy helps you opt out of those databases.

How many data brokers does ZeroPrivacy cover?

ZeroPrivacy currently monitors and sends removal requests across 200+ data brokers, including people-search sites, marketing databases, and public-record aggregators.

How long do removals take?

Many brokers process an opt-out within a few days. Some take longer or require an extra confirmation. ZeroPrivacy keeps tracking the request until it is complete.

Will my information come back?

It can. That is why ZeroPrivacy keeps scanning after the first removal and flags new listings so you can stay ahead of reappearance.

Is my data safe with ZeroPrivacy?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and it is never sold. We only use the minimum information needed to identify and remove your records.

Can I protect my family?

Yes. The Family plan gives you separate profiles for up to six people, with private results and one shared billing account.

What personal information can ZeroPrivacy help remove?

On covered data-broker and people-search sites, we can target listings that may include your name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, age, relatives, and other profile details. The fields available vary by broker.

Does a free privacy scan remove my data?

No. A privacy scan is for finding possible exposure; it does not send opt-out requests on its own. Removal work starts only when you choose a ZeroPrivacy plan.

Why does ZeroPrivacy need past addresses, names, phone numbers, or emails?

Past addresses, name variations, older phone numbers, and email addresses can help distinguish your records from someone else’s and uncover older listings. We only request details relevant to matching and opt-outs.

Will I need to verify my identity?

Some brokers require an email confirmation, a text code, or identity verification before they will act. If a broker needs your help, ZeroPrivacy will tell you what action is required.

What do the removal statuses mean?

Completed means a listing was confirmed unavailable or a broker confirmed the request. In progress means we are still working with the broker. Pending means the request is awaiting a submission, response, or step from you. Not found means the latest scan did not locate a matching public profile.

How does ZeroPrivacy verify that a listing is gone?

We return to the covered source after a request and record the result in your removal history. Some sites suppress a profile from public view, so a verified result applies to that source rather than every copy of your information online.

Why can a Google result still appear after a removal?

ZeroPrivacy works on the source listing at covered brokers, not Google itself. After a page changes, Google and other search engines may keep showing a result or snippet until their caches refresh.

What if a broker refuses a request or has no opt-out?

Each broker sets its own opt-out process. ZeroPrivacy records the status and follows up where a supported path exists, but we cannot force a third party to comply or promise a result outside the broker’s process.

Can ZeroPrivacy remove court, arrest, or government records?

ZeroPrivacy can target a covered private broker’s copy of a record. It cannot change an official court, arrest, or government record at its original source.

Will data removal stop spam, scams, or identity theft?

Data removal can reduce the public information available about you, but it cannot prevent every spam call, scam, or identity-theft attempt. Information from breaches, spoofed calls, and sources outside covered brokers can still exist.
